Applying for Membership:
Individuals or familes who are interested in joining VLSC may apply by submitting an Application Form to the Membership Chair. The application must be submitted with all fees, payments, dues, and assessments. A membership committee will interview the applicants prior to submitting the application to the Board of Trustees. At the next regular board meeting, the Membership Chair, after ensuring that the application requirements have been met in full, shall place the applicant's name for consideration by the Board of Trustees. No applicant shall become a member of the Club until the application has been approved by a majority vote of the Board. If the applicant is rejected, all fees shall be returned.

Membership Privileges:

    Privileges for all Active, Senior, and Associate Members include

  • Receive the Club newsletter, web site access, and access to the Club property
  • Attend, participate in, and contribute to Club meetings, racing seminars, Club social gatherings, and organized day-sailing activities
    Privileges for all Active and Senior Members include
  • Store, launch, and maintain personally owned sailboats at the Club grounds
  • Sail in Club-organized race series and regattas with their own boat
  • Utilize the clubhouse and grounds for private social gatherings with prior board approval
    * Privileges for (temporary) Student Members include
  • The student membership is a temporary membership for the purposes of taking sailing classes offered by the VLSC Sailing School, and the term of such membership is limited to the duration of the sailing class the student is enrolled in.
  • Student membership privileges are limited to only those necessary to participate in sailing classes at VLSC.
  • Prospective student members shall make application as part of the Sailing School enrollment process and must pay the temporary student membership dues at the time of enrollment.
